Q: How do I set up my artist store?
A: Once your account type is set to Artist or Both, go to /stores/setup to run through the store setup wizard. You’ll set your store handle, display name, bio, and complete Stripe Connect onboarding to enable payouts. You must also complete identity verification before your listings can go live.
Q: Do I need a Stripe account to get paid?
A: You need to complete Stripe Connect onboarding, which creates a connected Stripe account for you. This is where your payouts are sent. Stripe may ask for banking information and tax identification during onboarding.
Q: What is the platform fee?
A: FursonasFactory charges a 10% platform fee on all completed transactions. This is deducted automatically from your payout — you receive 90% of the commission price minus any Stripe processing fees. The platform fee is not charged if an order is refunded before completion.
Q: How long does it take to receive my payout?
A: Funds are held in escrow until the order is confirmed complete by the Buyer, or until 7 days after delivery if the Buyer doesn’t act. Once escrow releases, payout timing depends on Stripe’s schedule and your bank — typically a few business days.
Q: How do commission slots work?
A: Commission slots control how many active commissions you can take on at once. Your open slot count is visible on your storefront. When an order is placed, a slot is decremented. If an order is canceled, the slot is restored. When all slots are full, new orders cannot be placed.
Q: Can I set my own commission prices?
A: Yes. Artists set all their own pricing. Keep in mind the 10% platform fee comes out of your payout, so price your work with that in mind.
Q: Can I offer NSFW commissions?
A: Yes, if you are identity-verified and mark your listing or account as NSFW. NSFW content is only visible to users who have enabled adult content viewing in their settings.
Q: Do I need to publish a commission Terms of Service?
A: It’s not required, but strongly encouraged. Publishing your will/won’t draw list, revision policy, file delivery format, and other terms on your storefront protects you from disputes. Your personal commission terms are supplementary to platform policy and cannot override platform rules.
Q: What tax obligations do I have as an artist?
A: FursonasFactory artists are independent contractors, not employees of Stable Axis Group. You are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes owed on your earnings. We may issue tax documentation as required by law. Consult a tax professional if you’re unsure.
Q: I’m an artist — where do I manage my commissions?
A: Head to /studio — the Artist Studio. It’s a dedicated workspace where you can see your full commission queue, manage order statuses, communicate with buyers, and upload WIP images, all from one place.
Q: Can I have multiple stores on one account?
A: No. Each account supports one store. Your store is tied to your account and identified by your store handle.
Q: What information appears on my public store page?
A: Your store’s display name, handle, bio, active listings, reviews received, your average rating, and your open commission slot count are all visible to visitors.
Q: Can I temporarily stop taking commissions without deleting my listings?
A: Yes. You can pause individual listings, or manage your commission slots — setting slots to zero effectively stops new orders without archiving your listings.
Q: What happens to my store if my account is suspended?
A: Your store and listings become inaccessible to buyers immediately upon suspension. Any active orders will be handled at the platform’s discretion, with Buyer protection prioritized.
Q: Can I transfer my store to another account?
A: No. Stores are tied to their account holder and cannot be transferred. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com if you need to restructure how you operate.
Q: How do I set up my store handle?
A: During the store setup wizard, you’ll be prompted to choose a handle. This becomes your store’s URL (/stores/yourhandle). Choose carefully — your handle is part of your public identity.
Q: Can I see analytics for my store?
A: Yes. The Artist Analytics Dashboard at /studio/analytics shows detailed performance data including earnings, order breakdowns, listing performance, top buyers, and review snapshots for selectable periods of 30 days, 90 days, or 12 months.
Q: What is the store dashboard?
A: Your store dashboard at /stores/:handle/dashboard is your private store management area. It focuses on store configuration and settings, while the Studio focuses on active commission management.
Q: How do I complete Stripe Connect onboarding?
A: The onboarding flow is triggered during store setup. You’ll be taken to Stripe’s interface to provide your banking details and any tax information Stripe requires. Once complete, your account is enabled for payouts.
Q: What if Stripe Connect onboarding is rejected?
A: Stripe determines Connect eligibility based on their own criteria. If your onboarding is rejected, contact Stripe support directly. FursonasFactory cannot override Stripe’s onboarding decisions.
Q: Can I offer both SFW and NSFW commissions from the same store?
A: Yes. You can have individual listings marked NSFW alongside SFW listings on the same store. NSFW listings are only visible to users who have enabled adult content in their settings.
Q: How do I close my store permanently?
A: Archiving all your listings and removing yourself from commission availability is the closest to permanently closing your store short of deleting your account. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com for guidance.
Q: Can I preview what my store looks like to buyers before publishing?
A: Your store page at /stores/:handle is public once your store is set up. You can view it as a visitor would by opening it in a private/incognito browser window while logged out.
Q: Can I set different commission slots for different listing types?
A: Commission slots are a single pool tied to your store, not per listing. All your listings draw from the same slot pool. You can manage this by pausing listings to effectively prioritize certain commission types.
Q: What happens to my active orders if I run out of commission slots?
A: Active orders already in progress are not affected — slots only block new orders from being placed. Running out of slots simply prevents new bookings until existing orders are completed or canceled.
Q: Does the platform take a fee on auctions and bounties too?
A: Yes. The 10% platform fee applies to all completed transactions — whether initiated through a direct listing, an auction, or the bounty board. The fee is consistent platform-wide.
Q: What is the minimum information I need to complete store setup?
A: At minimum: a store handle, store display name, and completed Stripe Connect onboarding. A bio and store imagery are optional but strongly recommended for buyer trust.
Q: What happens if I don’t complete Stripe Connect onboarding?
A: If you haven’t completed Stripe Connect, your listings can be set up but you won’t be able to receive payouts. Buyers can still place orders, but funds will accumulate in escrow without a payout destination until you complete onboarding.
Q: Can I link my social media accounts or external portfolio to my store?
A: Your store bio is a free-text field where you can include links to your social media, external portfolio, or website. The platform doesn’t currently have dedicated social link fields, but links in your bio are visible to buyers.
Q: What is the store “status” and how does it affect buyers?
A: Your store can be in an open or closed state. A closed store signals to buyers that you’re not currently accepting commissions, even if you have active listings. Manage this from your store dashboard.
Q: Can I sell physical artwork or merchandise on FursonasFactory?
A: FursonasFactory is designed for digital commissions. Physical goods, merchandise, etc are not a supported transaction type on the current platform yet and only visually represented. Depending on interest we may include support.
