Q: What is the flag system?

A: Any user can flag listings, reviews, profiles, or messages they believe violate platform rules. Flags enter a moderation queue where staff review them and decide on action.

Q: What happens after I flag something?

A: Staff review the flagged content. If a violation is confirmed, they may remove the content and issue a content strike to the responsible user. You won’t be told specifically what action was taken.

Q: What is a content strike?

A: A content strike is a formal record of a policy violation on your account. Strikes accumulate and lead to escalating consequences: warning → feature restriction → temporary suspension → permanent termination.

Q: How many strikes before I get banned?

A: Generally: first minor strike = warning, second = feature restriction, third = suspension. A single severe violation can mean immediate suspension or termination. Certain violations (like minor sexual content) mean immediate permanent termination with no prior strikes needed.

Q: Can I appeal a content strike?

A: Yes. Email appeals@fursonasfactory.com with your username, the nature of the strike, and your explanation. Strike appeal decisions are final.

Q: What if someone is filing false reports against me?

A: Bad-faith reporting is a Code of Conduct violation. If you believe you’re being targeted, contact support@fursonasfactory.com.

Q: Can I see how many strikes I have?

A: Strike information is visible in your account. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com if you’re unsure of your current standing.

Q: Do strikes expire?

A: Some strikes have an expiry date for minor violations. Serious violations may carry permanent strikes. The specific terms are communicated when the strike is issued.

Q: What can I be flagged for?

A: Anything that violates platform policies: inappropriate content, harassment, review manipulation, fraudulent listings, NSFW content in SFW-marked listings, copyright infringement, hate speech, and more.

Q: Can staff issue a strike without a flag being submitted?

A: Yes. Staff can issue strikes based on their own observations. All staff actions are audit-logged.

Q: What feature restrictions might I face with a second strike?

A: Restrictions may include inability to create new listings, post to the bounty board, or use messaging. Specific restrictions depend on the nature of the violations and are determined by staff.

Q: What is a “severe single violation”?

A: A violation serious enough to warrant immediate escalation — uploading minor sexual content, filing a fraudulent chargeback, submitting fraudulent verification documents, or engaging in targeted harassment. These bypass the gradual strike ladder.

Q: Can a strike be removed if the content I was struck for is later found to be acceptable?

A: If you appeal successfully, a strike can be reversed. This is handled through the appeals process at appeals@fursonasfactory.com.

Q: Will I be notified when I receive a strike?

A: Yes. You’ll receive a notification when a strike is issued against your account, including the reason.

Q: What does the moderation queue look like?

A: The moderation queue is a staff-facing tool — users don’t see it directly. Staff review all submitted flags and take action based on platform policies.

Q: Can I flag a staff member for misconduct?

A: Yes. If you believe a staff member has acted improperly, contact support@fursonasfactory.com or appeals@fursonasfactory.com. Staff are held to the same Code of Conduct standards and all staff actions are audit-logged.

Q: What is the difference between a flag and a report?

A: On FursonasFactory, “flag” and “report” refer to the same user action — using the flag/report button to submit content for staff review. The terms are used interchangeably.

Q: Can I retract a flag I submitted?

A: Flags cannot be formally retracted once submitted. If you flagged something in error, contact support@fursonasfactory.com to let staff know.

Q: What happens to the flagged content while staff are reviewing it?

A: Content typically remains visible during review unless staff determine it needs to be immediately hidden. Severely violating content may be hidden immediately.

Q: Can I be flagged for my off-platform behavior?

A: FursonasFactory’s jurisdiction is platform behavior. However, if off-platform conduct directly affects the safety of platform users, staff may take it into account.

Q: Can I see what specifically was flagged about my content?

A: When a strike is issued you receive a notification with the reason. The specific flag that triggered the review may not be shown verbatim, but the violation category is communicated.

Q: What is the difference between “hidden” and “removed” content?

A: Hidden content is temporarily taken offline pending review — the content still exists but isn’t publicly visible. Removed content has been permanently deleted from the platform. Staff may hide content immediately for serious violations while reviewing, then remove it permanently after confirming the violation.

Q: If my content is flagged but no violation is found, does anything happen?

A: No. If staff review a flag and determine no violation occurred, the flag is dismissed and no action is taken against your account. Being flagged without a confirmed violation has no negative consequence.

Q: What counts as a “pattern” of behavior for escalated enforcement?

A: Multiple strikes of any kind, repeated flags even without confirmed violations, disputes that consistently resolve against you, or behavior that individually might be borderline but collectively suggests bad-faith use of the platform. Staff assess accounts holistically over time.

Q: Can I flag someone anonymously?

A: From the flagged user’s perspective, flags are anonymous — they don’t know who reported them. From the platform’s perspective, all flags are tied to your account for abuse prevention purposes.

Q: Is there a limit to how many times I can flag content?

A: There’s no stated limit, but submitting excessive or frivolous flags is itself a Code of Conduct violation (bad-faith reporting). Flag content you genuinely believe violates the rules, not as a tactical tool against users you dislike.

Q: What if I disagree with how a moderator handled a flag I submitted?

A: Email appeals@fursonasfactory.com if you believe a moderation decision was incorrect. Include the relevant content URL, your flag reason, and why you believe action should have been taken or the outcome was wrong.

Q: Can a Community Manager issue content strikes?

A: Content strike authority is held by Moderators and Admins. Community Managers focus on species, badges, and community engagement rather than discipline. Escalated cases go to Admins.

Q: What happens to flagged content that’s been in review for a long time?

A: Staff aim to process flags promptly. If content has been flagged and is still live after a long period, contact support@fursonasfactory.com to check the status. Backlogs can occur — thank you for your patience.

Q: Can a banned user’s flags and reports still be acted upon?

A: Flags and reports submitted by a banned account are reviewed on their own merits — if the flagged content genuinely violates the rules, staff will act. A banned user’s flag history doesn’t automatically discredit their prior reports.
