Q: How do I create an account on FursonasFactory?

A: FursonasFactory is currently in a closed beta — new registrations are by invitation only. When signups open publicly, you’ll be able to register at fursonasfactory.com/register. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Q: Why am I getting an error when I try to register?

A: New user registration is currently closed while the platform is in beta. The registration page will tell you signups are not yet open. Keep an eye on announcements for when public registration becomes available.

Q: Do I need to be 18 to use FursonasFactory?

A: Yes, absolutely. FursonasFactory is an 18+ platform in its entirety — there is no SFW-only tier or restricted access mode for users under 18. By creating an account, you confirm you are at least 18. Providing false age information is grounds for permanent account termination.

Q: Can I have both an Artist and a Buyer account?

A: You don’t need two accounts — FursonasFactory supports a single account with an “Artist + Buyer” (BOTH) account type that gives you access to both sides of the platform. You can only have one account per person; multiple accounts are a violation of the Terms of Service.

Q: I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

A: Use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page. You’ll receive a reset email at the address associated with your account. If you don’t receive it, check your spam folder. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com if you continue to have trouble.

Q: How do I delete my account?

A: You can delete your account through your account settings. Any open orders, active escrow, or pending disputes must be resolved first. After deletion, your profile and public content will be removed or anonymized within 30 days. Transaction records are kept for legal and tax compliance purposes.

Q: Can I change my username?

A: Username changes are managed through your account settings. Keep in mind that your username and your store handle are separate — if you’re an artist, changing your username does not automatically change your store’s URL.

Q: What’s the difference between my username and my store handle?

A: Your username is your platform-wide identity used in your profile URL at /user/:username. Your store handle is separate and defines your store’s URL at /stores/:handle. These can be different, and you set your store handle during the store setup wizard.

Q: My account was suspended. What do I do?

A: If you believe your suspension was a mistake, submit an appeal to appeals@fursonasfactory.com. Include your username, the email address on your account, a clear explanation of why you think the action was in error, and any relevant evidence. Appeal decisions are final. Do not create a new account while under suspension — ban evasion results in permanent termination.

Q: What roles exist on FursonasFactory?

A: There are three staff roles — Admin, Moderator, and Community Manager — and three account types for regular users: Artist, Buyer, and Both. Staff roles carry additional permissions and responsibilities beyond the standard user experience.

Q: Can I change my account type after registering?

A: Account type changes (for example, adding Artist access to a Buyer account) can be managed through your account settings. Switching to an Artist account type will require you to complete store setup and identity verification before you can create listings.

Q: What information is required to register?

A: You need a username, display name, email address, password, and account type (Artist, Buyer, or Both). Additional profile information like your bio, avatar, and banner are optional and can be added later.

Q: Is my email address public?

A: No. Your email address is never visible to other users on the platform. It is used only for account communications, password resets, and transactional emails.

Q: Can I use a nickname or pseudonym instead of my real name?

A: Yes. Your display name and username can be anything you choose within platform rules — you don’t need to use your legal name. Your legal name may be required during identity verification through Stripe, but that information is handled by Stripe and never shown publicly on the platform.

Q: What happens to my account if I don’t log in for a long time?

A: Inactive accounts are not automatically deleted. Your account and content remain intact. You can log back in at any time using your credentials.

Q: Can I log in from multiple devices?

A: Yes. You can be logged in on multiple devices simultaneously. Your session is managed via a secure cookie that lasts 7 days, after which you’ll need to log in again.

Q: How do I log out?

A: Use the logout option in your user menu (top right on desktop, or in the mobile navigation). Logging out clears your session cookie from that device.

Q: I think someone else has access to my account. What should I do?

A: Change your password immediately through your account settings. Then contact support@fursonasfactory.com to report the suspected unauthorized access. We take account security seriously and will investigate.

Q: What is the difference between a Moderator and a Community Manager?

A: Moderators focus on content moderation — reviewing flags, managing disputes, and handling reported messages. Community Managers focus on community-building — reviewing species submissions, managing badges, and platform announcements. Admins have full platform access.

Q: How do I become a Moderator or Community Manager?

A: Staff roles are assigned by Admins and are not something you can apply for through the platform itself. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com if you’re interested in contributing to platform moderation.

Q: I registered but never received a verification email. What do I do?

A: Check your spam or junk folder first. If it’s not there, contact support@fursonasfactory.com with your username and registered email address and we’ll sort it out manually.

Q: Can I merge two accounts?

A: No. Account merging is not supported. You may only have one account per person. If you have a second account in violation of platform rules, contact support to discuss how to resolve it without triggering a ban.

Q: What happens if I enter the wrong email address when registering?

A: If you registered with a typo in your email, you won’t receive password reset or notification emails. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com with your username and the correct email address and we’ll update it manually.

Q: Can I change my display name after registration?

A: Yes. Your display name can be updated in your account settings at any time. Your display name is separate from your username — changing one doesn’t affect the other.

Q: Is my password stored in plain text?

A: No. Passwords are hashed using a secure one-way algorithm before being stored. FursonasFactory staff cannot see your password — only you know it.

Q: What are the password requirements?

A: Passwords must meet a minimum length and complexity requirement set during registration. The registration form will show you the rules. If you forget your password, use the reset flow rather than trying to guess it.

Q: What is two-factor authentication and does FursonasFactory support it?

A: Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second login step — typically a code from an authenticator app — for extra security. FursonasFactory does not currently support 2FA, but account security improvements are on the development roadmap.

Q: Can I see my account’s login history?

A: Login history and session management are not currently exposed in the account UI. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password immediately and contact support@fursonasfactory.com.

Q: What notification types does FursonasFactory send by email?

A: Transactional emails include: order status updates, dispute notifications, system alerts, and account security emails (password reset, email changes). Marketing emails are separate and can be unsubscribed from.

Q: Are notifications real-time on the platform?

A: Yes. In-app notifications are delivered in real-time via Socket.io when you’re logged in. Email notifications supplement in-app ones for important events even when you’re offline.

Q: Does my account have a public profile page?

A: Yes. Your public profile is at /user/:username. It shows your display name, avatar, bio, account type, badges, and if you’re an artist, your store link and public listing activity.

Q: Can I set my profile to private?

A: FursonasFactory is a marketplace and community — profiles are public by default. If you have specific privacy concerns, contact support@fursonasfactory.com.
