A: Badges are achievements awarded automatically when you hit certain milestones — completing orders, receiving reviews, having species approved, and other platform events. They display on your profile and in the User Directory.

A: Badges are awarded automatically in the background when you trigger certain platform events. Just use the platform naturally.

Q: Can I choose which badges show on my profile?

A: Yes. You can pin up to 3 badges to display prominently on your profile and directory card.

Q: Who creates and manages badges?

A: Badges are defined by staff through Badge Studio (/staff/badges). Community Managers manage badge definitions.

Q: Can I lose a badge once I’ve earned it?

A: Badge awards are tied to platform milestones. Circumstances like account strikes or status changes may affect badge eligibility in some cases. Contact support@fursonasfactory.com if you believe a badge was incorrectly removed.

A: The badge catalog grows as the platform adds new milestones and community achievements. Visit /badges for the current full list.

Q: Do badges have any effect beyond appearing on my profile?

A: Badges contribute to your profile’s visual identity and signal engagement and reputation to other users. Future updates may tie certain badges to platform features.

Q: Can I hide a badge I’ve earned?

A: You can choose not to pin a badge — it remains in your collection but doesn’t display prominently. You cannot delete a badge from your earned collection.

Q: Why haven’t I received a badge yet even though I’ve completed orders?

A: The badge engine runs in the background and awards badges based on defined triggers. If you believe you should have received a badge and haven’t, contact support@fursonasfactory.com with your username.

Q: Can I earn the same badge multiple times?

A: Badges are unique per milestone — you earn each badge once. Once earned, it stays in your collection permanently (barring exceptional circumstances).

Q: What does it mean to “pin” a badge?

A: Pinning selects up to 3 badges to display prominently on your public profile and User Directory card. Non-pinned badges are still in your collection but aren’t highlighted.

Q: Are badges visible to all users?

A: Pinned badges appear on your public profile and directory card, visible to anyone.

Q: Can staff award badges manually?

A: Yes. Badge Studio allows staff to define badges and the badge engine awards them based on events. Staff can also manage the badge catalog.

Q: What events trigger badge awards?

A: Current triggers include order confirmation, review posting, content strike changes (positive resolution), and species approval (for Community Managers). Additional triggers will be added as the platform grows.

Q: Is there a “veteran” or “early adopter” badge for users who joined during beta?

A: Beta-period badges and similar milestone recognitions are something the Community Manager team can create through Badge Studio. Keep an eye on community announcements.

Q: Do buyers earn badges the same way artists do?

A: Yes. Badge eligibility is based on your platform activity regardless of account type. Buyers can earn badges through confirmed orders, reviews posted, and other events.

Q: Can I see another user’s full badge collection?

A: You can see a user’s pinned badges on their profile and directory card. Their full badge collection may also be visible on their public profile page.

Q: Can I suggest new badge ideas?

A: Yes. Send badge suggestions to support@fursonasfactory.com. The Community Manager team reviews suggestions and can create new badges through Badge Studio. Community input is welcome.

Q: Are badges retroactively awarded for things I did before the badge system launched?

A: Badge awards are triggered by events going forward from when each badge is defined. Retroactive awards for activity before the badge existed are not automatically granted, but the Community Manager team may issue retroactive badges for major milestones at their discretion.

Q: Can I see the criteria for each badge?

A: The badge gallery at /badges shows all available badges. Criteria descriptions are included with each badge so you know what triggers the award.

Q: Is there a total badge count visible on my profile?

A: Your pinned badges (up to 3) display prominently. Your full badge collection count may also be visible on your profile. The exact display format is determined by your profile layout.

Q: Can I trade or gift badges to other users?

A: No. Badges are earned individually and are non-transferable. Each badge in your collection was earned by you on your account.

Q: Do badges influence commission slot allocation or any platform mechanics?

A: Currently badges are cosmetic and community-signaling. Future updates may tie specific badge milestones to platform features or perks, but nothing is finalized.

Q: Can staff create badges that are awarded to specific users manually rather than automatically?

A: Yes. Badge Studio allows Community Managers to define badges and staff can issue them manually in addition to the automated trigger-based system.

Q: What happens to my badges if I change account type (e.g., from Buyer to Both)?

A: Your badge collection is tied to your account, not your account type. Changing account type doesn’t remove earned badges.

Q: Is there a badge for artists who maintain a perfect review score?

A: Visit /badges to see current badge criteria. Achievement and reputation badges are part of the catalog. The Community Manager team continues to expand badge offerings.
