Q: How do I create a commission listing?
A: Go to /listings/new. You must be an Artist with a verified identity and active store. Fill out your listing details — title, description, price, turnaround time, species tags — and upload your portfolio images. The listing starts as a Draft and goes Active when you’re ready to take orders.
Q: How many images can I add to a listing?
A: Up to 8 images or media files per listing. The first image is used as the listing thumbnail.
Q: What file types can I upload for listing images?
A: JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP are supported. Maximum file size is 20MB per image. Animated GIFs may be up to 50MB.
Q: What listing statuses exist?
A: Listings go through a DRAFT → ACTIVE → PAUSED → ARCHIVED lifecycle. Active listings are visible to buyers. Pausing hides them temporarily; archiving is more permanent.
Q: Can I list NSFW commissions?
A: Yes, if you are ID-verified. Mark the listing as NSFW before uploading any adult content. NSFW listings are only visible to users who have enabled adult content viewing.
Q: My listing isn’t showing up in search. Why?
A: Listings must be in Active status to appear in search and discovery. Draft, Paused, and Archived listings aren’t visible to buyers.
Q: Can I edit a listing after it’s published?
A: Yes, go to /listings/:id/edit. Buyers who already placed orders were bound by the listing at the time of their order — editing doesn’t retroactively change existing order terms.
Q: What are the different ways buyers can commission me?
A: Three ways: direct listings (buyers browse and order), auctions (competitive bidding), and the Bounty Board (buyers post what they want, you bid).
Q: What is a listing slug?
A: The slug is the URL-friendly identifier for your listing. It’s typically generated from your listing title and appears in the listing’s URL.
Q: Can I duplicate a listing to create a similar one?
A: Listing duplication is not currently a built-in feature. You would need to create a new listing manually.
Q: How do species tags work on listings?
A: Species tags let you associate your listing with specific furry species from the Species Registry. This helps buyers find your work when filtering by their fursona’s species.
Q: Can I set a listing to only accept certain types of commissions?
A: Listings are as specific as you make them. You can create separate listings for different commission types (headshots, full-body, NSFW, etc.), each with their own pricing and description.
Q: What should I include in my listing description?
A: At minimum: what’s included in the price, turnaround time, file formats delivered, how many revisions are included, content you won’t draw, and what reference information you need from buyers.
Q: What’s the maximum price I can set for a listing?
A: There’s no platform-mandated price cap. Set whatever price you believe your work is worth. Remember the 10% platform fee comes out of your payout.
Q: Can I offer add-ons or extras on a listing?
A: Not as a formal add-on system currently. You can describe add-ons in your listing description and negotiate them through the order comment thread. A formal add-on feature may come in a future update.
Q: Can buyers leave reviews on listings directly?
A: Reviews are tied to orders, not listings. After a confirmed order, the buyer leaves a review that appears on your profile and store page.
Q: What happens to a listing when all commission slots are full?
A: When your slots reach zero, buyers cannot place new orders. The listing remains visible but orders are blocked. Once a slot opens, new orders can be placed again.
Q: Can I set different prices for different turnaround speeds?
A: Not as a built-in feature — but you can create separate listings for different turnaround options at different price points.
Q: How do I archive a listing?
A: In your listing management interface, change the listing status to Archived. Archived listings are not visible to buyers and do not accept orders.
Q: What’s the difference between pausing and archiving a listing?
A: Pausing is temporary — you intend to reactivate it. Archiving is more permanent — for listings you’ve retired. Both hide the listing from buyers.
Q: Can I see how many times my listing has been viewed?
A: Listing view counts and performance data are visible in your Analytics Dashboard at /studio/analytics under the Listing Performance section.
Q: What is the recommended image size and aspect ratio for listing images?
A: There’s no enforced aspect ratio, but square or portrait-oriented images tend to display best in listing grids and search results. High-resolution images (at least 1000px on the shorter side) showcase your work better.
Q: Can I add a video to a listing?
A: Video uploads for listings are not currently supported. You can link to an external video in your listing description if you want to show animated work, but only image files can be uploaded directly.
Q: Do listing thumbnails get auto-cropped?
A: Listing thumbnails are displayed in a fixed aspect ratio grid. The platform may center-crop your first image to fit the grid. Upload an image that reads well even if cropped — avoid putting important details at the extreme edges.
Q: Can I reorder the images in my listing?
A: Image reordering may be available in the listing edit interface. The first image in the order is always used as the thumbnail.
Q: What happens to my listings when I’m at max commission slots?
A: Listings remain publicly visible but show as unavailable for new orders. Buyers can still browse your portfolio and wishlist your listings for when slots reopen.
Q: Can buyers ask questions about a listing before ordering?
A: Yes. Buyers can message you via DM before placing an order to ask about scope, style, custom requests, or any other details. Discussing complex requests before ordering reduces the chance of misunderstandings.
Q: Are there listing categories beyond SFW and NSFW?
A: Species tags, content type, and price tier are the primary classification systems. Within those, your listing title and description define what you’re offering. More granular category tagging may be added in future updates.
Q: Can I set a listing to require a discussion before an order is placed?
A: Not as a formal gating mechanism currently. You can state in your listing description that you require buyers to DM you before ordering. Buyers who order without contacting you first can be declined at the Accepted stage, with a full refund issued.
Q: What is the turnaround time field on a listing?
A: Turnaround time is a buyer-facing indication of how long you typically take to complete this type of commission. It’s not a hard binding commitment enforced by the system (that’s the 90-day maximum), but it sets buyer expectations. Set it realistically.
Q: Can I offer rush commissions at a premium through a listing?
A: Yes — create a separate listing specifically for rush turnarounds at a higher price. This gives buyers a clear option and lets you manage your workload intentionally.
Q: Can I feature or promote my listings on the platform?
A: FursonasFactory does not sell promoted listing placement — the platform does not accept money from artists to rank their listings higher. Discoverability is based on organic signals: your rating, engagement, species tags, and the Discovery feed algorithm.
